Purpose: Building and maintaining connections with the leisure industry are critical to the future of the field of leisure, recreation, parks, and tourism studies. This panel offers an opportunity for conference participants to learn about the roles leisure plays in developing communities and improving quality of life in the U.S. and Chinese cities. It also examines strategies to build linkages between leisure researchers and practitioners in both countries.
